Walpole Bay

Walpole Bay, with its long, sandy beach and concrete promenade,is ideal for investigating rock and tidal pools. The famous Tidal pool is popular with local swimmers, and allows you to bathe without crossing the rocky chalk reef when the tide is out. Visitors at high tide can enjoy mini golf, tennis and indoor bowls nearby.

  • Disabled Access to the beach
  • Cafes and restaurants nearby
  • Dog restrictions in place (must be kept on a lead between 10am and 6pm, from 1st May to 30th September)
  • BBQs allowed only after 6pm. Please take rubbish & coals, etc away, and ensure they are fully extinguished

Be Beach Safe. This means checking the weather and the tides, keeping an eye on your family, and not using inflatables. 

In an emergency, call 999 for the Coastguard. 

Please remember, if you are visiting our beaches and bays, 'Respect, Protect and Enjoy' and leave only your footprints.
